With growing interest and future posts featuring other locations, the Lost Ski Hills of Vancouver Island find a more complete, new home. Welcome to the Vancouver Island Ski Hill Timeline page!
We begin with timelines from the two previously posted lost ski hills, Little Wolf Mountain and Mt. Brenton, and extend to Green Mountain next. Then, we’ll cover Mt. Arrowsmith, Forbidden Plateau, Mt. Cain, and Mt. Washington.
To provide an idea, each location will have brief notes on the new timeline page, including their first mention of skiing, the initial concept as a skiing center, the opening day of facilities, the installation of the first major lifts, and the reasons for the location’s closure.
As more information is gathered over time or as more complete history and timeline posts are published for the individual locations, their timelines will be added to the Vancouver Island Ski Hill Timeline, or the existing timeline will be updated with more detailed information for a comprehensive timeline.
