The hike

The Lighthouse loop is an incredibly scenic hike, with great views rain or shine, whether you’re there just to check out the lighthouse or your hiking the whole loop.
Hiking the 2.6 km loop starts from the parking lot. If you’re looking to get to the lighthouse sooner then I’d suggest hiking the loop clockwise. The trail itself is a wide, well groomed public trail. It wanders along the shore line, around the point, with stops for view-points every few meters or so to take in the changing landscape. It has a few steep section and wouldn’t be ideal for a walker or wheelchairs but could be done.
If you’re just wanting to check out the lighthouse, you can drive down to the lower parking lot where the wheelchair access is. This area is paved along a section of the shore line and down to the lighthouse, it also has as toilets available. Weather shouldn’t discourage you from visiting, it is an excellent place for storm watching as the water breaks on the rocks below.
